Gapminder

Another Google tool to analyze various indicators like economic growth, population, income per capital, military budgets, number of girls going to school etc. per countries and regions. You may see the results in maps or charts which can be chosen on the left up side. Also select the indicators from right side.

A very user-friendly tool...

We Epic Systems together with Beemode (www.beemode.com) have developed a Data Visualisation software almost ready to be released soon.

We are looking for ideas to promote the software.
You can view our preliminary version at :

Your comments will be appreciated.

Take gapminder as an example.

The interface was a part, but the main reason of its tremendous succes was the information released within their frame.

If you were to try and promote your software, better that you give it some serious content to get attention.

Otherwise you would be just the next fish in the sea.

The data you show atm are informative but don't cause a fuss, therefor your product doesn't get the attention it would get when you present more delicate information, as gapminder did.

I agree with and we are working on that. Specially in the Financial sector.

If you got specific data in mind, we are open to display it.

Here is another link for a project we did with Princeton University on US unemployment :

I hope you could evaluate it and give me your comments. So many ideas are there.

In a few days you can test the software by uploading data on our website and getting the corresponding Flash charts. This is for a limited number of users.

Regards.

This one is informative, good tool for a economical history class.

The exact information that pops up when one touches the graph is a good addition.

Might consider highligthing the elements on the other graphs that correspond with the same year

Also consider starting dott size at 15 or 20 rather then 50%. Gives a better visual.

In finances, a display of currency values relative to a commodity (gold, oil or cereals) would rock. The data should be easily aquireable.

I would be glad to be a test user.
Can think of some charts that would be a great addition for my research regarding organic fuels.

Hope there is a manual how one should format the data.

Yours sincerely,

Thanks Karel. Useful comments and we will apply them.

It is my pleasure to have you as a test user. Just go and register on the site and I will get you activated.

I am preparing some documentation for the Excel Data file required. Basically at this stage it is 3 columns(Date,X,Y) for each object. So if you have 2 objects you make an Excel file with 6 columns
(Date1,X1,Y1,Date2,X2,Y2).Simple isnt it!

If you have the Currency/Commodity data available, it would be great to display it.

Hisham
